See the post from 5th March this year, “West Burton, Thoralby and Aysgarth”. We revisited the walk for the quarry in early summer glory, the limestone walls plastered with Fairy Foxgloves, and with some Rock Roses at the northern end. In addition, there are: Field Madders, Salad Burnets, Cowslips, and the usual suspects Buttercups, Birdsfoot Trefoil and Pignuts aplenty. Oddly, on a still and reasonably warm day, few bees and other insects. A wonderful, secluded haven.
Dear Hugh,
The quarry looks great! Pauline and I were in Wensleydale last week looking for birds, and found Ring Ouzel at Oxnop Scar.
Are you now fully retired? If so, can you recommend another orthopaedic surgeon as my knees getting troublesome.
Best wishes,
Bob Blewitt
